PhotoMesh - Features

PhotoMesh revolutionizes the use of geospatial data by fully automating the generation of high-resolution, textured, 3D mesh models from standard 2D images.

PhotoMesh Benefits

Automatically process 3D models within minutes or hours

PhotoMesh integrates a proprietary, GPU-based, fast algorithm, able to automatically build 3D models from simple photographs.

Use standard photography equipment and techniques

PhotoMesh supports a wide range of cameras, including mobile phone, compact digital, DSLR, photogrammetric, and multi-camera systems, so no costly or specific equipment is necessary for the acquisition step. PhotoMesh can process still photographs or extracted video frames from digital video cameras.

Process massive projects with an unlimited number of photographs

Multi-core and multi-computer processing can be utilized to accelerate database creation and publishing of huge data sets. Using additional reconstruction engines, up to 60 gigapixels of input imagery can be processed a day.

Create true to life 3D models

PhotoMesh builds true-3D (as opposed to 2.5D heightmaps), high-resolution, and photo-textured models, which comply with reality to an unmatched extent.

Generate photorealistic 3D models of entire cities, smaller urban areas, or of individual buildings, landmarks, or objects

PhotoMesh can turn various image sources (aircraft, helicopter, UAV, street-level, etc.) into a consistent 3D model encompassing all scales, from large-scale relief to finer details of man-made and natural scenes.

TerraBuilder - Overview

The TerraExplorer family of applications allows you to view, analyze and edit customized, virtual 3D landscapes.

TerraExplorer is a powerful, easy-to-use tool for exploring, editing, analyzing, annotating and publishing photo-realistic interactive 3D environments. With this exciting, interactive application, users can overlay unique or exclusive information onto a 3D map, to highlight specific features of an area, and show function, relation and proximity along with a distinct view of the area. TerraExplorer Architecture

All the products in the TerraExplorer family are built utilizing the same technology.

  • TerraExplorer Viewer -: Users can navigate through high resolution 3D world environments created by fusing aerial and satellite photography, terrain elevation data and other 2D and 3D information layers. Basic editing capabilities are available as well as advanced terrain analysis tools. When embedded in a SkylineGlobe web package, the standard TerraExplorer Viewer serves as a SkylineGlobe viewer, providing advanced API capabilities.
  • TerraExplorer Plus -: Adds feature and raster layer importing, advanced editing, basic catalog functionality and the advanced Pro API interfaces.
  • TerraExplorer Pro-: Adds publishing capability, feature layer editing and querying, advanced objects and drawing tools, as well as a set of tools for professional usage.

OPS GIS

OPS GIS is a professional set of GIS tools which can meet requirements of the hi-end GIS users by providing tools to build and manage a complete GIS project. OPSGIS is a powerful desktop mapping and GIS software tool. As an analysis and management tool aiming for spatial information, OPS GIS can be successfully applied to many industrial fields such as land, forestry, power, telecom, traffic, environment, planning, travel, water conservancy, aviation, etc.

Supports CAD and GIS

OPS GIS Supports CAD data structure (object-based structure) and CAD functionality natively. It supports simultaneous GIS and CAD data formats and can query for the information in a CAD file directly.

Importing Vector Data

OPS GIS can import DGN, DXF, DWG, MIF, SHP, etc. Many times OPS GIS handles CAD data directly as CAD data files contain several types of features in one file with different objects have different styles. OPS GIS imports CAD as CAD dataset keeping all its original styles. It can import CAD datasets as a GIS data layers.

Importing Raster Data

OPS GIS Raster Import Formats are WMF image file, MrSID, TIF, ERDAS IMG, BMP, PNG, Arc/Info Grid, ECW, etc.

Data Export

OPS GIS supports exporting of the datasets to formats like E00 (Arc/Info), MIF(MapInfo), SHP (ArcView), DGN(MicroStation), Coverage (Arc/Info), DXF (AutoCAD), etc.

Vector Creation and Editing Tools

Trim - Trims objects at a cutting edge of the specified object.

Extend - Extends a line to meet another object.

Break - Breaks a line from the vertices to form many lines in its least unit

Smooth - Smoothens poly lines, converting them into continuously smoothing curves

Resample - Removes some points in a line when it is too dense at the same time keeps the shape at the best of possibilities

Joint - Joints two or more lines into one line in an editable line layer.

Mirror - Creates a mirror copy of the selected object(s) by using a temporary line as the mirror.

Chamfer - Creates a line between two nonparallel lines.

Fillet - Connects two lines with a smoothly fitted arc of a specified radius.

Offset - Creates a new object whose shape parallels the shape of a selected object at a specified distance. Offsetting a circle or an arc creates a larger or smaller circle or arc depending on which side you specify for the offset.

Reverse Line - Changes the direction of a line.

Add vertex - Ads vertices at the selected points for a line/region, for the convenience of editing vertex or other operations

Edit vertex - Changes the shape of a region/line by moving/deleting their vertices.

Rotate - Rotates objects in an editable layer.

Move - Displaces objects a specified distance in a specified direction. Style Brush - Applies the style of a selected object to other objects in a CAD layer.

Attribute Brush- Applies the non-system field values of a selected object to other objects.

Strong Snapping Tools – Strong CAD like snapping tools are provided.

TerraBuilder - Overview

TerraBuilder allows users to quickly generate Skyline 3D terrain and urban model databases from a wide variety of data types.

The TerraBuilder terrain builder product creates 3D terrain databases from imagery and elevation data, whereas TerraBuilder CityBuilder creates fully textured urban models (3DML) from 3D mesh models and classification layers and/or from model layers. These photo-realistic, geographically accurate, and stream-optimized databases can be included in local TerraExplorer projects or published to remote clients via TerraGate.

The TerraBuilder family includes the following products:

  • TerraBuilder -:This terrain building product merges aerial photos, satellite images, and digital elevation models of different sizes and resolutions into a photo-realistic, geographically accurate terrain database.
  • CityBuilder -:Merges 3D mesh models together with classification layers, and/or other model layers into a multi-resolution and stream-optimized 3D Mesh Layer database (3DML).
  • PhotoMesh -: Fully automates the generation of high-resolution, textured, 3D mesh models from a set of oblique 2D images.
